The Mighty Oak, comes to life when Ceri Thomas merges with and inhabits a mature Oak tree> In this form she can’t speak – as she has no vocal cords – so signs to her team instead (her mother was deaf, non-verbal) however she can clearly hear what is being said. She/it (no one outside the team knows Oak is female) can elongate her body and limbs, bulk up for fighting (usually adding another metre to her height, though she can grow even taller and shrink back down when required) and bulk out her wooden muscles and limbs. She can grow and control branches and foliage from her body as required (and remove when no longer required without causing herself any injury}, regenerate, is resilient to lot of damage and is very strong.
Ceri is one of the founder members of the Cymru Dragons, led by the martial artist Welsh Dragon. The other team members are the power-suited flier Red Kite, Mighty Oak, and two new interns the teenage young woman Seismic (earthquake powers) and teenager Ashen (a meta with dhampir-like abilities).
The Dragons are based out of Barry Island, in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales and have a grav-powered transporter for getting around.
